CARLISLE NETBALL CLUB. This year my aim is to create an U11 squad and target primary schools to help promote 7 a side NETBALL. Last year I had an U14 & U18 squad who trained on a weekly basis and played matches against other
SAFETY RULES: Parents/Guardians must come into the arena to collect their child.
REGISTRATION FORMS: Please print off and return to me at the 1st training session
COSTS: Each player will pay £2 per session– to cover the costs of the arena hire and affiliation fees to All England Netball Association (for insurance cover etc) I DO NOT make any money from Carlisle Netball Club.
KIT: The U14 & U18 squads have a blue hoodie, blue skort and a white polo shirt. I am currently looking into getting Tshirts for the U11 squad and hopefully a hooded jumper. The Tshirts will cost £5 and the hoodies are £10 (the club pay another £10 towards the hoodie and print on the back)
SPONSORSHIP : To help cover costs and help advertise Carlisle Netball Club, we are looking for a sponsor to help pay for kit or cover the arena costs for 6 months, and possibly buy new equipment. I would love all members of the squad to have a good netball to take home and bring to club each week.
**IF YOU KNOW ANY ONE WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING THE CLUB PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON TO THEM AND LET ME KNOW SO I CAN WRITE TO THEM, EXPLAINING OUR AIMS & OBJECTIVES. **

Reasons for setting up a committee:
A committee is needed to help develop and strength Carlisle Netball Club. A committee and constitution is to be confirmed and agreed to enable the club to apply for funding and apply for CAPS. CAPS is a club mark accredited scheme organised by Sport England. This scheme ensures sports clubs are being ran using professional, legal and developmental procedures. Evidence needs to be evaluated by Sports England or the sports governing body i.e. All England Netball Association before the CAPS club mark can be awarded.
Aim: To become the first junior club in Cumbria to be awarded the bronze CAPS award by March 2009.

Action Plan:
My aim is to supply each member with a netball at training. Get all the U16 squad members attending a beginners umpiring course. Support a volunteer through a level 1 netball coaching course. Support volunteers/parents to attend the beginners umpiring course. Encourage all U16 squad members to attend a high 5 netball coaching course.
Funding:
More funding needs to be gained to help the club develop. More equipment is needed to help improve and progress training session. Aim: A new netball for everyone, two new sets of bibs, an electric ball pump, hooded jumpers for U11 squad, Tshirts for all members. Sources of funding were discussed. Neighbourhood forums, bag packing, and sponsorship options were discussed.
Neighbourhood forum: Before we can complete the relevant application form a child protection policy is to be agreed and an equity statement to be produced. Copies of meeting minutes have to be sent along with the application.
Bag packing: Saturday event at local Marks & Spencers and/or Morrisons to be organised before Christmas 2008. Carolyne McCormick to investigate possible options, to be discussed on 3 November 2008.
Sponsorship: Sponsorship options are limited especially as we are not playing netball in a competitive league. Many companies want some form of advertising in return, which unfortunately we can not offer. We have received £100 from Metal Box factory in 2006.
Publicity:
Advertising the club in local newsletters and local schools would help promote the club and hopefully increase the amount of members. Seasonally newsletters will be printed and sent to local schools and area newsletters i.e Lowry Hill Residents Association, Harraby/Botcherby newsletter, Brownie groups in North Carlisle area.
Links with the Police and ‘respect’ campaign could be made with the netball team to help gain publicity. Police to be asked for guidance on this. (TBC) Extra Committee Roles:
