Ramshorn shepherd's crook on a long hazel shaft

A beautifully made country walking stick, suitable for a collector or as a special present. The ramshorn is highly polished and wonderfully smooth to the touch.
It has been made into the shape of a traditional shepherd's crook, as originally used by shepherds to catch members of their flock by hooking them around the neck.
The shaft is made of hazel wood, a traditional country wood that is highly prized for its distinctive colouring and texture.
It is fitted with a smart horn ferrule and collar.
